    Case study · Deltona

A collector's estate in Deltona, one July weekend

A west Volusia home with a collector's household. The public sale ran July 24–26, 2026, and the record is still online.

    The situation

The sale was publicly titled as a collector's estate. With an estate like that, the collections have to be identified and separated before anything can be priced.

We're keeping the family private here. The public sale record documents the dates and the sale itself.

    What we did

We walked the home, separated the collections from the everyday household, researched and priced both, and promoted the sale publicly before running it over three days.

Throughout, the family's keepsakes and papers stayed out of the sale. That's a conversation we have at the first visit, not on sale day.

    For other west Volusia families

If you're handling a home in Deltona, DeBary, Orange City or DeLand, the order matters more than the speed. Keepsakes and documents first. Then a look at what could sell. Cleanout last.

    • Set aside family photos, papers and anything with sentimental weight
    • Don't donate furniture or collections before someone has looked at them
    • Photograph each room, the garage and any shed so the first call is useful
    • Write down the date the house needs to be empty

If your family is planning something similar

    • Call before you clear. Once a collection is split up or donated, there's no getting it back.
    • An estate sale is one path. Depending on what's there, an online auction, individual listings or a donation-and-cleanout plan may fit better.
    • If you live far from Deltona, a video call and photos are a fine way to start.

If the house is also being sold, Poshlando Realty can talk with you about it under its own brokerage agreement. Running an estate sale doesn't create a real-estate agency relationship, and you can use any agent you choose. Poshlando Realty
